The day has come and my artwork for the Champions League is literally aaaall over my lovely Madrid. It’s crazy to see the different elements coming to life in many different shapes, I’m still assimilating the magnitude of this project…

The Lost Art of Caring
Moria Refugee Camp, Lesbos Island.
•
Some weeks ago I had the chance to visit the beautiful Lesbos island in Greece, for a very special project by Aptarts and Doctors Without Borders
The goal was to add some color to their pediatric clinic at the camp and get the kids involved.
There are no walls there so in a few days we painted everything we came across with: tents, isoboxes, containers and we even created some animals to play using draft wood. Dramas aside, we all had a really good time.
You can imagine the amount of thoughts that run around your mind when you’re on the plane back to your comfy home while these kids and families are staying in those conditions for god knows how long until they move god knows where. While I’m writing this, this now colorful clinic is probably attending traumatized kids, ugly infections, and really dark shit in the worst scenario. Thankfully, they are surrounded by amazing professionals willing to give their best at all times.
The situation is not easy to solve, so many issues to attend here but I don’t know, I think we all have the right to live well. Try to put yourself in a situation where some gangstas were chopping heads off in your neighborhood because of your thoughts or religion. Or try to find yourself with no way to make a living at all and a family to feed up. What would you do?
Special thanks to Montana Cans for their support.

‘Unexpected Dialog’ with Murone is now open at ArtCan Gallery in Marseille, France.
I’m showing some new canvases and wood pieces along with a couple of installations in collaboration.
Before this show Murone and me didn’t know each other, so it was an unexpected exercise of dialog and interaction, good for stubborn people like me. Happy with how everything turned out and how Diego and Nicolas treated us, chapeau!
Merçi beacoup to all of you who passed by the opening!
‘Unexpected Dialog’ will be running till April 5th.
So lucky to see this amazing building by Le Corbusier in Marseille, la Unite d’Habitation. One of my favorite creative persons ever. I didn’t realize the shadow heart until I transferred the photos :)

Quick stop in Dubai
‘Bang Bang Boogie’ Jersey City, NJ.
A tribute to hip hop culture and its origins, featuring the different elements of hip hop (Bboying, Mcing, Graffiti, Djing…) in an old school block party kind of a scene, including the fire hydrant pumping water and the iconic boombox.
Keeping it local, I took the color palette from New Jersey’s Sugarhill Gang verse in their famous ‘Rappers Delight’: “I’d like to say hello to the black to the white, the red and the brown (dark red in this case), the purple and yellow”. The rap lingo and abstractions from the song were also an inspiration to make all the characters interact merging into a sort of a trippy camouflage pattern.
That was fun, love this neighborhood. Many thanks to Brooke and Peso from the mural program (JCMAP), Fred Shandler and much love to my NY family Luis Lucas & Jennifer for their support and hospitality.
The wall is located in Monticello ave with Belmont, Jersey City.
Hanging out with my bro Luis Lucas (@iamluislucas) and his wife Jennifer in NYC. He’s a good friend, designer, but also a good street photographer, these are from some days ago. Good times in the Gran Manzana
A detailed look onto ‘Liquid Dreams’, one of newest studio works, using spray paint, tinted resins and wood. A continuation of my exploration with the translucency and it’s interaction with natural and artificial light.
On display at Art Miami 2018 through Nil Gallery Paris
New works on wood and tinted resins for Art Miami 2018, with Nil Gallery Paris.
I’ve been working on some new ceramic vases. It’s fascinating how everything changes once they come out of the oven, you can never know how the final outcome will be, that can be as amazing as frustrating sometimes.
Working on a new figure at the moment, fingers crossed :)

This nice rug was presented this past weekend during the London Design Fair by Junior Monarch, a premium rug company based in Poland who asked me for a collaboration.
The design and colors are taken from a large canvas that I painted back in 2012 at Tashkeel Studio in Dubai, when I was testing some crazy pattern compositions.
The rugs are produced in a family run, Good Weave certified, mill. Which means no children are used in the production of the rugs. Waiting for mine to do a proper siesta test!
