Been painting a long wall this past weekend at Primavera Sound Festival split with a nice crew @amaiaarrazola @zosenbandido @marinacapdevila @txemy @mina_hamada and @cristianblanxer

My contribution to the wall is based on ‘The Party’, the old famous movie featuring Peter Sellers.

Many thanks to the whole team at TheCreative.net and everyone involved

Skateboarding stories.

I had the chance to paint this beautiful vintage bus located at my local skatepark in Spain, Skate Agora, where they host every year the Street League contest.
For those of you who aren’t into skateboarding, the Street League is like the SuperBowl of skate and turns out that one of the 5 stops of the World tour (2 in Europe, 3 in USA) is in my neighborhood.

The artwork that I worked on is inspired in different stages of skateboarding: exploring, slamming, pushing… slamming again.
Four characters showing each of these features in one side and a perfect kickflip over a tree on the other side, like the evolution of the skater and all the struggle and determination behind it.

Not a big fan of Street League or anything related with the mainstream transformation of skateboarding but that’s a different story. This project wasn’t directly related with it, just with the local park but I gotta say that I’m happy to have had the best riders and friends from all around the world having fun in my neighborhood.

Many thanks to Montana Colors and Skate Agora for supporting this, I’ve been wanting to paint this bus since the first time I saw it in the park and it’s always cool to play at home!

Just came back from Bordeaux (France) where I spent almost a couple of gypsy weeks having a mini residency and show at Darwin with my friends Javier Mendizabal, Julián Lorenzo and Diego Cabezas.
We’ve been working and having fun together for ‘Immersion’, the idea behind the show, which is inspired in how the human is interacting with the Ocean, what’s our impact and how can we change that. We have collaborated with a couple of NGO’s specialized on this so they can inform the visitors as they see the artworks.

A great experience, we’ve developed our artworks on the go and I’m excited to have had the chance to collaborate with my friend and sculptor Diego Cabezas on some pieces for this show.

From May 5th to 25th at Darwin Gallery, Bordeaux.

Many thanks to Javi and Carine for make this happen and for take care of us, and the amazing crew at Darwin, especially Tristan and Seb.

Emotional balance.

Reason vs. Emotion, the uncontrollable struggle of these two human behaviors as opposed as inseparable.

“In an average lifetime, the human being spends around six years dreaming, but what is really happening during this time still remains a mystery, impossible to decipher.

Located between our consciousness and the dream state, lucid dream allows us to control and modify our actions or scenarios, aware that we are living in a dream whilst making everything possible within the limits of our imagination.

Where would your dreams go if you could have control over them? How far are our dreams from reality?

Welcome to the thin line that connects consciousness with dreams.”

With this text I opened my new installation in Dubai for MeetD3, an annual art & design event taking place in Dubai Design District.
Invited by Tashkeel Studio and inspired by lucid dreaming, I created this space with the idea of placing yourself far from reality for a minute, and inviting you to interact and be part of this trippy dream. More info in my instagram @zoonchez

Many thanks to Tashkeel Studio, D3 and all of the visitors who passed by and showed some love. <3

‘Organic Interaction’
My installation for The Nest art festival 2016 in Bahrain.
10 days of intense hard work, using the recycled wood used from last year’s festival and inspired by the human communication, the way we find the way to interact with each other, through words or any other non verbal communication. I tried to show the human necessity to interact with other humans, breaking the barrier of language sometimes.

Many thanks to my team Almas and Shahjahan, Mohammed, Reham, Huvil and everyone at Al Riwaq Art Space.
